The scenario, discovered by the first responders upon arrival, was a collision between two planes that were taxiing on the runway. There were multiple people injured, including two who were in a serious condition.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The exercise involved NSW police, Fire and Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, Dubbo Volunteer Rescue Association, NSW State Emergency Service and the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
The organisations were judged on their reactions to the scenario, to help them improve their response if a similar instance was to occur in real life.
