A WOMAN has faced court on charges of inflict grievous bodily harm after an alleged assault left her victim with a serious eye injury.

At 3am on Saturday, February 8, a 33-year-old woman was allegedly hit in the face several times by a 35-year-old woman known to her on Mullion Street in Gilgandra, while she was waiting for a lift home.
The woman sought medical treatment from Gilgandra Hospital, before being transferred to Dubbo Base Hospital.
Due to the significant injury to her eye, she was airlifted to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.
Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District were notified and commenced an investigation.
Following inquiries, police arrested the 35-year-old at a home at Dubbo, at 10.40am on Monday, February 24.
She was taken to Dubbo Police Station and charged with inflict grievous bodily harm.
The woman was refused bail and appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Tuesday.
