The Yawarra Community School has received more than $5,400 in funding which will go towards its Dustbowl to Dinner Plate program.
The program aims to incorporate innovative water-wise gardening systems to create a learning environment where students with special needs are able to nurture seeds and soil, watch and help plants grow, and further develop their life skills by cooking meals from their harvest.
Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said he "very much looks forward to seeing the wonderful project come to life in the coming months."
The Sustainable Schools Grants program provides a total of $10 million to schools over a four-year period.
Applicants are open to all NSW public schools and preschools with the next application round set to commence this November.
