The AGM, which will start at 7pm and be immediately followed by the club's first committee meeting of the year, will see the majority of current committee members return for another year of service, while the club is also hopeful of seeing some new faces who are willing to help out and bring some new insights and ideas to the club.
All positions on the committee, such as the role of president, treasurer and secretary, are open, with the role of secretary certain to exchange hands with long-serving secretary and player at the club, Karen Armstrong opting to not put her hand up for the position.
Some of the duties committee members are responsible for include:
. attend monthly meetings
. assist with the running of the mid-week competitions
. occasional working bees and social events
. have input into the direction of the club, allocation of resources and opportunities for growth.
Members from 2019 and players interested in joining the committee and wanting more information should contact a current committee member or club president, Charlie Whiteley on 0417 026 164.
In other news at the club, the summer competitions commenced at the end of January with more than 100 players competing across the A, B and C Grades.
The club also recently launched its 'Get Your Racquet On' social night which is played on Tuesday from 7 pm and is a great way for previous players or beginners looking for a social event to get involved. For further information on this the club website or Facebook page.
