The Dubbo teenager's weekend ended in spectacular fashion as he crashed into the back of the Sam Shahin-riven Triple Eight Pro-Am entry, which only moments before had been nudged off the track and sent a cloud of dust spiralling into the air.

Everingham's view was obscured as he entered the dust and his #92 Scandia-backed MARC II suffered extreme damage as it made contact with Shahin's vehicle and then the wall.

There was real fear for Everingham when he emerged from the car and then laid on the ground but the youngster confirmed on social media and while speaking to Supercars.com there was no major damage.

"I'm alright, it's just a sprained ankle. I guess it could've been a lot worse," Everingham told Supercars.com.

"I got all cleared and I'm back at the track, but the car is definitely a write-off.

"It was the left ankle that is worse, but the right ankle is a little bit sore as well.

"It pushed my feet off the pedal box and that's what hit my ankles.

"It's very disappointing and I feel sorry for my crew and teammates, they've all worked hard to be here and it's very disappointing for it to end this way, but that's unfortunately the way motorsport rolls sometimes."

With the crash registering 37G, he was taken to Bathurst Base Hospital; he was later released at 5:30pm.

Everingham hasn't completely conrfirmed his plans for 2020 year but he hopes to be back at full fitness for the opening round of the 2020 Dunlop Super2 Series in Adelaide from February 20-23.

He finished sixth overall in his debut campaign in the Super2 Series last year.
