Extinction Rebellion Central West will host the event before it takes the protest to Canberra on Tuesday.
Member Kate Allan urged people to come along.
"I'm 77 and I'm frightened for the future, I'm frightened for my grandchildren," she said.
During the coming days, Extinction Rebellion Central West will host three events.
A Party in the Park at Robertson Park on Saturday will demand Orange City Council declare a climate emergency and later in the day, the group will host an introductory talk upstairs at the Metropolitan Hotel so people can learn more about the organisation.

All the politicians will be back in Canberra - they're our leaders and they're the ones that have to make a change.

Then on Tuesday, a group of activists will head down to Canberra for the first day of federal parliament as part of the On the Steps protest to lobby for action on climate change.
Ms Allan said as part of declaring a climate emergency, the group wanted the council to commit to 100 per cent renewable energy for council operations by 2025 and zero carbon emissions for the community by 2040.
"To make an impact, we have to cut emissions by 50 per cent in the next 10 years, that's incredible," she said.
Bathurst protest band The 10th Man will perform.
The Party in the Park will be held at Robertson Park from 1pm until 3pm on Saturday, followed by the talk at 4pm-5.30pm.
Those who attend the party have been encouraged to dress as their favourite threatened or extinct species.
Those who attend the talk have been encouraged to register their interest on the group's Facebook page to provide an expectation of numbers.
Ms Allan said people as far as Bathurst, Lithgow and Mudgee had already signed up to attend the On the Steps protest.
"All the politicians will be back in Canberra - they're our leaders and they're the ones that have to make a change," she said.
A 12-seater bus will leave Dubbo at 9.00am on Monday, 3rd February, and leave Canberra, Tuesday 2.00pm, 4th February. Travel by private cars can also be arranged.
Accommodation is booked at Yowani Country Club, Lyneham.
