A man is dead following a crash between a motorcycle and a car in the Central West.

At about 11am on Thursday, emergency services were called to Windeyer Road at Windeyer, about 30 kilometres south of Mudgee, following reports a motorcycle and a Holden Barina hatchback had collided.
A motorcyclist, believed to be a man in his 60s, died at the scene and has not yet been formally identified.

The driver of the hatchback, a 51-year-old woman, was taken to Mudgee Hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District established a crime scene with the Crash Investigation Unit investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
