The 57-year-old man was the driver of a vehicle that rolled and struck a tree, and he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.
The patient's condition had improved, a health district spokesman said on Thursday.
He was still stable and out of the intensive care unit, he said.
On Monday police said the man was travelling north along Mogriguy Road about 10km south of Godwins Lane when the vehicle rolled and struck a tree.
NSW Ambulance were called to reports of a car rollover about 7.20pm and two ambulance crews and the medical helicopter team responded, a NSW Ambulance spokesman said on Monday.
The male had pelvic and chest injuries and was in a critical condition, he said.

A driver critically injured in a crash north of Dubbo on Sunday night remains in a Sydney hospital.
The 57-year-old man was ejected from his vehicle when it rolled and struck a tree on Mogriguy Road, police said.
He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital and on Monday a hospital spokesman confirmed the patient was in a stable condition.
The driver was travelling north along Mogriguy Road about 10km south of Godwins Lane when the vehicle rolled and struck a tree, Inspector Keith Ridley said.

The helicopter landed on an oval at Eumungerie and the patient was transported from the crash scene by road to be airlifted from there to Westmead, with a doctor on board the helicopter, he said.
Police investigations are continuing and anyone with information that could assist is asked to contact Dubbo Police Station.
Dubbo Rescue Squad assisted police and paramedics called out to attend.
Rescue squad captain Luis Perez-Mora said crews assisted both at the crash scene, and at Eumungerie where the helicopter landed.
