Under level four water restrictions, council has set a daily water usage target of 280 litres per person. However, Dubbo residents have consistently been above the target.
From December 2 to 8, the Dubbo community used an average of 321 litres per person per day.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
To help meet the daily target, residents who have purchased water-saving shower heads or an irrigation timer can get 50 per cent of the cost back. There's a limit of two shower heads and one timer and council will only provide up to $20 for each item.
It applies to any purchases from the start of October and will run until the end of March for anyone living within the local government area.
Council is also looking into other water-saving devices that can be added to the rebate scheme.
The water saving rebate scheme application forms are available from Dubbo Regional Council.
