Officers began the investigation in October after a bag of women's underwear was stolen from a hotel room in Mascot.
Inquiries led police to a home in Rosebery on November 6, where they allegedly found more than 1000 pairs of women's underwear, bras and swimwear.
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the home and is facing a charge of break and enter.
He's due to face the Downing Centre Local Court on Monday.
