This week we have reported on a couple of things that would be hard to read for some people.
These stories are equally as hard to report. We have to make sure we acknowledge your right to know with the rights of those involved.
Our story on the stranger who kidnapped, sexually assaulted and filmed a child and was sentenced to 14 years in jail for what a judge described as a "callous, predatory crime" was one such story.
The story on the Dubbo high school forced into lockdown after a pair of 16-year-old boys started fighting, and one was slashed under the chin with a knife on Wednesday was another.
We hear the criticism from those who say it is sensationalist journalism, but we don't accept or agree with that critique.
We won't shy away from chasing and writing the hard news stories, and we promise to report them in the most honest but sensitive way we can.
On a lighter note if you have time, go to the Dubbo Regional Theatre 2020 season launch today. It should be fun and if you can't, then read about it here and on Monday when we will have a full wrap of the event.
Thanks to those subscribers that came to our morning tea on Friday morning. We enjoyed your company, and we hope you enjoyed getting a behind the scenes look at how we bring you the news.
We hope to hold more soon.
Thank you for subscribing to the Daily Liberal, we appreciate it.
