The Thind family moved to Dubbo three years ago from India. Mr and Mrs Prabhjot both work in hospitality and hope one day to open their own business.

New citizens have been welcomed from 10 countries around the world. They originate from China, Iran, United States, Turkey, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Nepal, Taiwan and Philippines.

Dubbo Regional Council mayor Ben Shields said he welcomed them both as Australian citizens and as members of the Australian community.
