About 11am on Saturday, officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District responded to reports of a two-car collision at the intersection of Myall and Fitzroy streets.
On arrival police observed a Mitsubishi Lancer and a Toyota Landcruiser had collided, causing the Landcruiser to tip onto its side, police said.
The driver of the four-wheel drive was taken to Dubbo Hospital for treatment to minor injuries by NSW Ambulance.
Dubbo Rescue Squad also attended the scene and captain Neil Sturrock said the incident had the potential to be serious.
There was extensive damage to the car and it was fortunate no one was more seriously injured, he said.
