The Paramount Tennis Club's winter competition concluded with two exciting finals being played in its A/B and B/C Grades.

The winter competition, which commenced in July, featured approximately 80 players across the two grades.
In A/B Grade, team Federer which consisted of Charlie Whiteley, Wayne Henry, David Ward and Wendy Cox proved too good for team Hewitt which consisted of Michael Dunn, Brian Humphrys (playing for Kel Wise), Stuart Eckford and David Murray.
The final was a thrilling affair which finished at four sets all with team Federer taking the title through a higher games tally.
In B/C Grade, team Molik which consisted of Gemma Savage, Amog Khanal, Ramesh Sharam and Kerrie Standford proved too strong for team Hewitt which consisted of Paul Handsaker, Bal Shrestha, Tony Miller and Colt Phillips five sets to three.

The B/C Grade division more than enjoys the social aspect of the competition and again gave out some special awards - most improved was Letitia Hart, most reliable reserve Ricky Chan and biggest personality player Charlie Quilty.
Focus now shifts to the upcoming spring competition which will commence the week of Monday, October 14 and run for 10 weeks. Teams will be selected by the committee this coming week so people looking to play should contact the night organiser as soon as possible:
- A Grade (Monday) - Mark Campbell 0437 806 122
- B Grade (Wednesday) - Gerard Cahill 0410 220 899
- C Grade (Thursday) - Paul Handsaker 0429 069 745.
The A, B and C Grade competitions cater for players of all abilities and interest levels so anyone is welcome to play.
