A Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre initiative- the Friends and Buddies Club (FAB Club) - has added to the theatre's accolades for 2019 after landing a Community Development Award.

The award, announced earlier in the month, recognises the dedication and skill to those making a difference to regional Australia.
DRTCC manager Linda Christof said the Community Development Award was meaningful to them because it showed that although they strove for best practice in the industry at all times, they operated with heart and soul to help the community have an enjoyable theatre experience.
"One of the judges came to me after the awards ceremony and said we were up against multi-million dollar community programs but that the panel thought our Friends and Buddies Club stood out because it was so simple, yet effective," Ms Christof said.
"It ensures people do not feel isolated or alone and made to feel welcome as soon as they arrived in the foyer."
