Methylmaphetamine, also known as the drug ice, was detected in Jason William Isedale's saliva when police pulled him over for a random breath test in November 2017.

Court documents reveal police found a resealable bag in the 41-year-old former Warrumbungle Shire Council worker's car.

After Isedale was arrested police seized his mobile phone and downloaded messages from it.

Multiple text messages about drug deals were discovered and police said Isedale was revealed to have engaged in regular drug supply with a woman also known to them. In one of the text messages obtained by police, Isedale referred to 3.4 grams of ice as a "full load of wood" and 1.7 grams as "a half load".

Isedale pleaded guilty to two counts of supplying prohibited drugs and was sentenced in the Dubbo District Court on Wednesday.

According to court documents he had been in custody for 345 days and had no prior drug supply convictions.

"It's unlikely that he'll reoffend... his rehabilitation prospects are good," Judge Stephen Walmsley said.

Isedale was sentenced to 11 months, one week and two days in jail for one count of supplying prohibited drugs. With time already served taken into account he became eligible for release on Wednesday.

For the other drug supply offence Isedale was sentenced to nine months in jail, with a three-month non-parole period which also expired on Wednesday.
