A DUBBO motorist has been ordered off the road for six months after allegedly driving at more than double the signposted speed limit.

Orana Highway Patrol officers said the incident occurred at 5.51am on Wednesday during a stationary speed enforcement operation in Narromine.
The police operation was conducted near the intersection of Dandaloo and Culling streets, an area with a 50km/h speed limit.
"Police observed a vehicle travelling well above the posted speed limit as it travelled in a westerly direction upon Culling Street. The vehicle appeared to be increasing speed," officers said in a statement.

"A check was conducted on Lidar detecting the vehicle up to 102km/h at the end of the check.
"A short time later the male driver being a Class C licence holder from Dubbo was stopped."
Officers will allege the male driver said he "thought it may have been about 70".
The driver was issued an infringement for exceed speed over 45km/h which carries a $2482 fine and six demerit points.
The driver's licence was also suspended for six months.
The vehicle was in another person's name and the registration was not cancelled.
