Mr Ward and his brother Andrew are taking part in the KidzFix Rally. The'll be driving though Tasmania and raising money for community projects that focus on the wellbeing of children.
Two Dads was formed because Mr Ward and his original partner Derek Blomfield both had children who were born premature.
Mr Ward's son Lucas was born 11-and-a-half weeks early at Dubbo Hospital. Thanks to the Newborn and Paediatric Emergency Transport Service transporting him to Sydney he was able to get the specialist treatment he needed.

Since starting, the team has raised $80,000 with a hope of reaching $100,000 this year.
This will be the biggest KidzFix Rally yet with 23 cars - including support vehicles - and between 75 and 100 people.
Mr Ward said most of the people involved had somehow been touched by a sick child. There were also some motorheads who enjoyed getting away for the week in their 20 to 30-year-old cars and traipsing through a new part of Australia.
Mr Ward said he was looking forward to getting on the road, catching up with former participants and new families like Brian and Pam Bowman from Dunedoo.
"There's a strange feeling that happens at the end. It's hard to describe but you get an overwhelming feeling of generosity, that you've done some good," Mr Ward said.
"To be able to give back to other families who might be going through similar or worse situations so they can have medical care or education equipment in rural and remote areas is amazing. And we can have a lot of fun at the same time as giving."
With the drought and the current economic situation, every dollar counted, Mr Ward said.
There are six main projects that will receive funding from the 2019 KidzFix Rally: four sleeper beds for Latrobe Regional Hospital for parents staying with their children in hospital, an outdoor playground for North West Hospital in Tasmania, an antenatal ultrasound machine and equipment for Numurkah Hospital, four atom neo cots for Shoalhaven Hospital, equipment for Milton/Ulladulla Hospital and a clinical station for Westmead Kids Rehab.
Another $4800 was also given to Molly's Mission for 30 nights of accommodation at Ronald McDonald House at Westmead.
The KidzFix Rally will be held from September 14 to 21. It will start in Melbourne and finish in Devonport, via Hobart. To donate to Mr Ward's team, or see their progress, look for the Two Dads page on Facebook. More information is also available on the KidzFix Rally website.
