Pay was back among the winners when he drove the Bernie Hewitt-trained Lifes A Jungle to victory in the Sky Racing Active Pace (1730m).
Making the victory that bit sweeter was it being in the Dubbo product's only drive for the night.
It's a situation he'll be hoping repeats itself on Sunday at his home track.
Pay has just the one drive again, combining with Nathan Hurst to steer Tulhurst Lover in the Garrards Rio Meteor Series Final (2120m).

Tulhurst Lover heads into that event having not won since January but has shown glimpses of his best in recent times, having run second two starts back at Dubbo while the gelding has also scored two third-placed finishes in his past five events.
Despite that, he's likely to be among the outsiders again come Sunday as there are a number of in-form contenders set to line-up.
Hurst has one of those in Gabbys Sportstar, the gelding heading into the event having scored two wins in his past five starts.
Another in truly ominous form is Stephen Dowton's Pocket Beauty.
The three-year-old won his last start at Dubbo and was dominant that day, scoring by a massive 32.6m in the handy milerate of 1:59:8.
Pocket Beauty's record is an imposing four wins and 10 placings from 18 starts.
Racing starts at 11.15am on Sunday with the final the seventh race on the card.
