Two former Group 11 brothers in arms will lock horns when the Brisbane Broncos and Penrith Panthers meet on Friday night.
Brent Naden and Kotoni Staggs, both former Wellington Cowboys juniors who received call-ups to their respective squad's playing rosters in untimely circumstances, will line up in the centres opposite one another during the must-win clash.
Staggs has been solid for the Broncos throughout the season, but will be looking to make a statement after the Broncos lacklustre win over the North Queensland Cowboys last time out.
While Naden opened the scoring for the Panthers in their upset win over the Sharks last weekend, helped along by the kicking game of Dubbo debutant Matt Burton.
Burton, who impressed in his debut, and turned heads with a masterful under 20's State of Origin appearance which netted him rave reviews, will return to the Panther's Canterbury Cup side due to difficulty in securing the young gun a spot on Panther's first grade team.
Burton wasn't in the Panther's top 30, or their secondary development line-up, when the call came through and special dispensation was only granted to field him due to James Maloney's absence due to a suspension and a number of other players out with injury and other issues.
The Panthers and Broncos currently sit at seventh and eighth on the competition ladder, with both teams seeing the match-up as a must-win with only four rounds left in the competition.
