More than 120 bowlers from across the state will be in attendance for the event, which is contested on both Saturday and Sunday.
This now marks the fourth occasion this prestigious event has been held west of the mountains, with the bowlers bringing with them a huge amount of parents and supporters, and officials.
Club Dubbo's head greenkeeper Darren Connolly has received plenty of praise for his work in the lead-up to this weekend's event, and there will be no issue in catering for the 24 rinks needed.
There are 16 teams competing from all over the state, with each team comprising a singles player, a pairs team, and a fours team.
On the Saturday, teams are grouped into four sections and following three games each discipline is ranked from one to 16 and then sectioned into four groups for Sunday, depending on the rankings.
On Sunday, there are two games that will determine the final rankings in each discipline.
First, second and third medals are awarded to each of the singles, pairs and fours, and a perpetual shield is presented for the best performed zone team across the weekend.
As a bonus this year for the juniors competitors, Bowls NSW staff and coaches are holding a training day on the Friday prior to event from 1pm to 4pm, giving the kids more advance training.
More than 50 young bowlers are expected to take part in that seminar.
In terms of the competition, Zone 4 is the area of which Dubbo is a part.
Zone 4 will be fielding two teams due to the lack of participation of one other zone.
The Zone 4 sides are as follows:
Zone 4 Green: Singles - Lachlan Thompson (Gulgong). Pairs - James Robinson (West Dubbo) and Jordon Thompson (Gulgong). Fours - Dorian Abel (West Dubbo), Cooper McMullen (Macquarie), Tom Rich (Mudgee), and Tom Bowman (Coonabarabran). The manager is Glenn Morrison.
Zone 4 Grey: Singles - Tom Ashley (Trangie). Pairs: Shelby Powell (Nyngan), Reiss Robinson (Orange). Fours - Harley Sharpe (Molong), Brody Carter (Cudal), Ryan Drew (Bathurst), and Justin Walsh (West Dubbo). West Dubbo's Steve Robinson will be the manager.
All spectators and players are sure to be well looked after over the weekend, as Club Dubbo bowls' manager, Anthony Brown has a team of club volunteers all ready.
They will be on hand to run an outdoor BBQ as well as drink stands.
Brown is eager to see many locals take in what is sure to be elite competition.
