Her 60 years of commitment saw her named patron of the Dubbo RSL Sub-Branch Auxiliary on Sunday.
For Mrs Urquhart it's been a cause close to her heart.
"A lot of my family were either killed in Gallipoli, or been in the services, all the time," she said.
The new patron had a great-uncle killed and buried at sea but the links are not just to defence force members in the past.
"I had a great-granddaughter in the navy and she married a sailor, I've been connected with them all the time, it's all I've done," she said.
Mrs Urquhart became involved in the RSL Auxiliary when her husband was the president of the Binnaway RSL Sub-Branch.
"When I was in Binnaway I used to make half a dozen sponge cakes for before I went to the street stall," she said.
Of more recent years her regular gig has been selling raffle tickets.
"It's rather funny because people come and they say, they start to tell me their name and I say their name and they say 'Gee, you've got a good memory', I get it all the time," Mrs Urquhart said.
"I still remember their names, but I can't walk around much."
NSW RSL Auxiliaries state president Pauline James presented Mrs Urquhart with her certificate and offered her congratulations.
