Trained at Wellington by McCarroll, Lady Riz (Tony Cavallo, $4.40) took the lead at the top of the straight and was a runaway winner of the Bruce Dickinson Transport Maiden Handicap (1400m), ahead of Schwanky Doo ($3.30 favourite), ridden by Ryan, and Lucky Eye (Mathew Cahill, $21).
McCarroll was looking a big chance of achieving a double but Smart Attire (Yvette Lewis, $4.20 ) was overhauled and beaten a half-neck by the Wayne Collison-trained Some Nights (Clayton Gallagher, $8.50) with Trust Me Bill (Ashleigh Stanley, $41) third in the Three Rivers Machinery Benchmark 50 Handicap (1600m)..
Kelly Smith, the only trainer at Collarenebri, prepares Ayham and he won feature, the Robert (Sal) Canham Memorial Benchmark 50 Handicap (1100m).
Appropriately, the race which honoured a man who gave his service to Coonamble Jockey Club for 25 years, was a good contest with Ayham (Vad Bolozhinskyi, $11) close to the lead from the outset holding on to score in a photo finish from Bee Double Bee (Clayton Gallagher, $5.50) and Fourth Protocol (Billy Cray, $11).
Following a win at Tamworth during the week with Renzulli, Gilgandra trainer Bryan Dixon won with Fine Behind at Coonamble.
Landing her career third winner, Tamworth based apprentice Yvette Lewis led most of the way on Fine Behind ($3.10 fav.) to beat Moon Over Menah (Mathew Cahill, $9) and Ben Shoof (Clayton Gallagher, $4.40) in the Onsite Fuel Class 2 Handicap (1300m).
Dixon also trains Outta Space (Yvette Lewis, $8.50) which led and fought on gamely when beaten a half-head by the Gavin Groth-trained Bring The Joy (Wendy Peel, $4.60) in the Thinkwater Outwest Benchmark 58 Handicap (2000m).
First leg of a winning double for Clayton Gallagher was the Luke Morgan-trained Stampede Warrior ($1.55 fav.) which was third around the hometurn then shot away to score by more than five lengths from My Shiromi (Greg Ryan, $3.70) and Try 'N' Sing A Song (Billy Cray, $41) in the PW Concrete & Gravel & Batterline Earthmoving Maiden Plate (1400m).
