Trainer-driver Turnbull will be in the gig at Dubbo Paceway on Sunday when Redbank Tommy contests the Harness Racing NSW Rewards Series Final (2120m).
Previously raced in the Riverina, Redbank Tommy came to Turnbull's Bathurst stables having not scored a win in 12 career starts.
Form was mixed early after the switch, with one placing from his first four starts for Turnbull but soon things began to change.
After a win in a heat of a previous Harness Racing NSW Rewards Series at Bathurst, Redbank Toomy finished second in the final.
Those results were followed by a second-placed finish last time out, in the heat of this latest series.
He'll go from gate 10 at Dubbo on Sunday and shapes as one of the major players in the final.
Another of the leading contenders is the classy Hot Embers, trained and driven by John O'Shea.
Hot Embers has three wins from 11 career starts and heads into the final having comfortably won his heat last weekend as a hot $1.50 favourite.
Dubbo's Tom Pay will drive Mystical Shannon in the final, the Peter Bullock-trained mare second-up from a spell.
Mystical Shannon will start from gate eleven.
Racing starts 12.48pm.
