Conservatorium Director Vivienne Winther said the opportunity presented to Ms Newby, to attend the orchestra camp "was wonderful."
Ms Newby will represent Macquarie Conservatorium in the youth orchestra and is one of only four students chosen to play in the Australian World Orchestra.
Attendees will take part in orchestral tutorials, with leading musicians from the Australian World Orchestra, before performing in the AWO Chamber six-concert at the City Recital Hall in Sydney on Tuesday, July 30.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for one of our most talented students," Ms Winther said.
Ms Newby studies viola with Conservatorium teacher Nicole Hammill and has been a member of RYO since it started in 2016. She participates in RYO orchestral projects with the Australian World Orchestra, Opera Australian Orchestra, Staatskapelle Berlin, Sydney Opera House, Regional Arts NSW, and with Sydney Symphony Orchestra's Playerlink program.
Ms Newby said she plans to continue her music studies at tertiary level at Sydney Conservatorium next year.
Participants are all members of Regional Youth Orchestra NSW (RYO), an auditioned orchestra of talented young musicians established in 2016 by the Association of NSW Regional Conservatoriums.
President of the Association and Director of Northern Rivers Conservatorium, Anita Bellman, said the Association had forged wonderful partnerships with a number of leading music organisations.
"Our July RYO project sees us collaborate for the fifth time with our major partner, the Australian World Orchestra.
"Also for the first time with one of Australia's leading tertiary music institutions, the Australian National University's School of Music.
"These collaborations provide the best possible opportunities for our talented young musicians."
RYO draws its players from the Association's 17 regional conservatoriums, funded by the NSW Government to provide high-quality music education for regional schools and communities.
