Down by twelve points at half time, the scoreboard reading 16 to 4 in favour of the visitors, the Magpies showed considerable pluck to get themselves not only back into the contest, but also well and truly in the race to the semi finals.

Throughout the thrilling game the scores were levelled up on three occasions, firstly at 16 all after the Magpies staged a fine second half revival, then again at 22 all after the Terriers had edged ahead 22 to 16, before once more they had to reel in another six point lead with the Terriers leading 28 to 22 with the minutes counting down.
The draw was the third of the season for the Magpies, and whilst they obviously would have preferred the two competition points the one point gained from the draw, combined with Dunedoo's hefty 50 to 14 loss to Cobar at Cobar, gives them a three point break over the Swans in the battle fourth spot on the competition ladder.
The form shown by Trangie should hold them in good stead for this Saturday's Battle of the Birds against the Baradine Magpies in Baradine whilst the Swans face the daunting task of upsetting the Coonabarabran Unicorns to stay in the race for the semis.
The Unicorns were too strong for Baradine, taking the game 74 to nil whilst in the remaining game the Binnaway Bombshells were defeated 52 to 24 by Gilgandra but showed plenty of ticker in a stirring second half performance that saw them win the final 40 minutes 24 to 18 after the Panthers had bolted out to a 34 to nil lead at half time.
Gilgandra will most certainly be looking towards a much stronger showing in the final forty minutes this Saturday when they travel to Gulgong to play the Terriers for not only the Boronia Cup, but also for the lead on the competition ladder in what is a blockbuster replay of last year's grand final!
In league tag Cobar registered a 12 to 10 win over fourth placed Dunedoo at Cobar, the loss by the Swannettes presented an opportunity for Coonabarabran to draw level with them on the competition ladder but the Unicorns fell four points short in their clash with Baradine going down 12 points to 8.
That opportunity still exists when Coonabarabran and Dunedoo meet this Saturday in the league tag match.
