Captain-Coach Wes Middleton, who returned to the field after being sidelined by injuries, was optimistic about his side's chances of taking the Magpies fourth place ladder spot, after improvements on-field have seen the club grow.
"We've been building on things every week, but you need games of footy to improve and we're improving each game when we take the field," Middleton said.
"I was very proud of the boy's efforts [last week], this time of the year, you want to be bagging those wins and improving and I'm confident we'll keep improving even next week against Forbes."
The Raiders put together a complete showing against rivals the Narromine Jets last week after a patchy appearance against Parkes offered only a draw as consolation.
Forbes will be entering the contest with renewed hope of making an impact after the return of injured Brad McMillan to the fold after the veteran back rower was ruled out of previous games this season.
In their last outing, the Magpies managed to get the better of the Nyngan Tigers, who once again went without star player Justin Carney.
In round two earlier this season, Forbes dealt the Raiders a 40 - 6 loss in their first matchup of the year, with Macquarie's errors costing them.
The Macquarie Raiders and Forbes Magpies match is expected to kick-off at 3pm.
