The nationally-recognised Diploma provides cultural literacy and competence, with students coming away with a high level of understanding of Aboriginal cultures and knowledge systems, complex socio/historical issues and the skills needed for application in the workplace, community or academic environment.
The students officially graduated during their ceremony at the Yarradamarra Centre at TAFE NSW Dubbo.
Ms Kuras said the way the teachers at the centre deliver and implement the studies is effective, engaging and culturally appropriate.
"It's amazing how they implement that into the core structure," Ms Kurus said.
"They're awesome teachers; they do a fantastic job."
Ms Kuras initially started the course due to her interest and desire for Aboriginal power and drive.
The skills coincide with Ms Kuras job at a local organisation, and when she told her employer, she wanted to continue the studies they supported her.
"I'm a strong believer that education is power," she said.
"I encourage more people to enrol in Aboriginal Studies, especially Aboriginal people."
"As Aboriginals, we tend to walk between two worlds."
Ms Kuras said it's essential for everyone, but particularly Aboriginals, to have a deeper understanding of both.
"It's important for Aboriginals to have an understanding of the things that are taught to us in these classes," she said.
"Then they can go home and pass it on to their families."
The course provides students with opportunities to learn about Aboriginal relationships to the Land, Aboriginal heritage, and identity, through a historical examination of colonialism, racism and prejudice, legislation and policy.
Students study the course through the lens of national and international indigenous community experiences and go on to demonstrate their understanding of research through the major projects.
Among the other students having graduated with newly-learnt skills from the course, it has led some to direct employment and new opportunities within their organisations.
