The last-place Rams were devoured by the first placing Sharks last weekend in round 13 of the 2019 Waratah League season, with the side suffering a crushing 92-42 defeat.
Import Charles Baines didn't make it to the final whistle due to an ankle injury midway through the game, but Reid says finals basketball has never been the Rams' focus, but rather the development of the team.
"We have six listed players under 19, surrounding them with calmer older heads of myself, Brian Amos and Dan Medway; we are extremely confident we're taking steps forward," Reid said.
"The results will come."
It was a rough second quarter play that really had the Rams struggling, and the side only managed one score for that term, leaving the tally 43-17 by half time.
Reid was working hard for the team in the absence of shooter Rob Dewar, bagging the most points for the side, but the Rams were outclassed.
The languishing Rams are set to go up against fifth-on-the-ladder, the Lithgow Lazers, for round 14, which will play out this weekend.
The Lazers have won half of its games and lost half, but in comparison to the Rams eleven losses and one win, the round is looking woeful for the Dubbo side.
Rams will have to pull out all the tricks in the book to turn their season around this late into the season.
