Twenty-six Tasmanians have been officially commended for their service to society this year, with an inclusion on the Queen's Birthday Honours List. Read more about them here.

Across Central Victoria,13 people who have jumped in to help their communities through sharing their time, knowledge and skills have been celebrated.

Those wonderful citizens include Dr Penny Davies, Anne Conway, Sedgwick's Audrey Drechsler, sailor John Carroll, and many more.

Former principal Stephen Higgs spent 21 years at Ballarat Grammar and for his services to education, he's been awarded an Order of Australia Medal; Barbara Hughes' contribution to shaping Ballarat has also been honoured while in Mortlake there's acknowledgment for Merv Hampson.

Dimboola's Beverly Hoffmann has received an Order of Australia Medal, too; Haven's Sue Exell has received the ultimate recognition and Horsham surgeon Ian Campbell was among the many recognised in the Wimmera.

There's a collection of Border and North East men and women named in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours. They share both a commitment to their community and surprise they have been singled out. But many years of active service stand testament to their contributions. Read about them all here.

Coolamon's David McCann is making his second appearance in an honours list; Wagga GP Geraldine Duncan has been recognised for her decades of dedication; well-known Lockhart solicitor Ian McLeod has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia and Rodney Smith, a former senior officer police officer in Wagga, has been awarded the Australian Police Medal.

Shoalhaven residents have been honoured in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours. Among them are Sue Davies, Laurie McGinty, Clem McNamara, all of Nowra and Dr Mary Moran, of Kangaroo Valley have each been awarded Order of Australia Medals. Read more here.

The far south cost community didn't miss out either with Chris Sparks, Leanne Barnes and Ross Williams among the acknowledged.

The Queen's Birthday 2019 Honours List recognises a diverse range of contributions and service across all fields, including professional endeavours, community work, Australia's Defence Force and Emergency Services. Meet them all here.

From rugby league administrator to a professor who has made a "significant service to medical research in the field of toxicology" and a softly spoken lady who was "thunderstruck" to learn she was to be awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia, the Hunter is honouring its own. Read more here.

The honourees include Bathurst's Graham Lupp, Judy Rutherford and Jerry Trevor-Jones; Jen Cowley and Jim Pascoe in Dubbo as well as Alf Manciagli in Orange for his services to photography.

"I was a bit shocked, I didn't expect to receive an award for something I actually love doing," Alf said.

Decades of dedicated service through a number of community organisations has earned Edna Lamb her recognition while Alan Morris's bird-watching dedication earned him an honour.

Gerry de Vries, from Wauchope, has his commitment to emergency response organisations over almost 50 years remembered, too, while in Kempsey, Margaret Jopling has been rewarded for her tireless volunteer work.

Plenty of talent from the New England North West was recognised in the 2019 Queen's Birthday Honours List, among them Walcha News sports and gossip contributing journalist AJ 'Coogie' Cross. Read more about them all right here.

A former Redlands MP, forensic odontologist and conservationist are among seven Redlands residents to be named in the Queen's Birthday Order of Australia Honours List. You can meet them here.

Two men from North West Queensland are in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours list - former Flinders Mayor Greg Jones and Kevin "Mick" Pattel of Richmond. Read more about these two men here.

On Kangaroo Island three women have received Queen's Birthday 2019 Honours. They are Bev Overton for her service to conservation and the environment; Carol Miell for dedication to marine rescue, and Jennie Teasdale for service to education and international relations.

Meanwhile, an adjunct professor for Georgetown's University, originally from Orroroo in the Southern Flinders has been honoured as an Officer of the Order of Australia and Samuel Peter Mattey, who has spent decades involved in local government has been recognised, too.

Former Blyth resident, Jack and Gwenyth Crombie were both honoured with Order of Australia Medals for their service to the Indigenous Community of South Australia. Theirs is a unique tale. Read it here.
