A 29-year-old man who allegedly kidnapped his pregnant wife and her two children did not apply for bail when he appeared in Dubbo Local Court on Monday.
The Dubbo resident was arrested by police at 2.40am on Sunday.
Police charged him with three counts of kidnapping, which allegedly occurred between May 15 and May 17, when he allegedly took the woman and her children to Newcastle.
Another domestic violence related kidnapping charge was also laid against the man, who was alleged to have kidnapped the woman on May 8.
Three further stalking and intimidation charges were also laid against the man.
The Daily Liberal has not named him in order to protect the children's identity.
The man has also been charged with allegedly choking the woman and assaulting her on December 20, 2018.
He has not yet entered pleas. The case returns to Dubbo Local Court on July 24.
On average, one woman a week is murdered by her current or former partner, according to the Australian Institute of Criminology.
