"If I win, I win but that's not what I'm worried about. I really just love the sense of community. I would love to be part of the show society and help the community as best I can," Ms Doran said.
The 19-year-old is one of six entrants in this year's Dubbo Showgirl competition. It aims to find someone who can represent young, regional women of NSW, while promoting the annual Dubbo Show.
Ms Doran said she had already been made to feel so welcome by the Dubbo Showgirl organisers. She said they were a lovely group of people, and that attitude was one of the reasons she entered the Dubbo Showgirl.

Even a casual dinner with 2018 Dubbo Showgirl Josie Anderson and some of the other entrants had been lovely, Ms Doran said.
"Everyone's clicking really well which is what I love. You don't feel like you need to impress everyone you're just there to be yourself," she said.
Ms Doran is a health centre clerk at Macquarie Correctional Centre. She's also studying a Bachelor of Agriculture online.
"I'm really interested in the topic and I feel agriculture has to do with everything," she said.
"Everyone eats produce, everyone wears clothes with cotton. And there's a big need for the agriculture industry to move forward and take advantage of all the technologies and become more modern."
It was an industry that could never not exist, Ms Doran said.
Agriculture is in her blood with both her grandparents and mum having grown up on the land.
"I've always had a connection back to the land and I do love it. I plan on buying my own property one day, when that day comes. I'm still only young so I can't really get that at the moment," Ms Doran said.

The Showgirl entrant said she had always loved the show. It was the one thing she always looked forward to as a kid, Ms Doran said.
To her, the showgirl needs to be someone who is able to talk to and connect with everyone.
"You need to have that sense of community and that warm welcoming personality. And to be involved in the community as well," she said.
The winner of the Dubbo Showgirl competition will be announced on Saturday, May 25, prior to the official opening of the Dubbo Show.
