Ms Lindsay is one of the performers taking part in the Cancer Council's annual fundraiser.
"I've actually been to every one we've had in Dubbo and thought it was a great night and have always secretly wanted to do it," she said.
"For the past two years my friends have nominated me so I thought I'd better put my money where my mouth is."
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
Ms Lindsay admitted she wasn't taking the event too seriously. Unlike some of the other stars, she said she hadn't been practicing every week.
However, she did have strict instructions for the team at Stepping Out Dance Factory.
"They wanted me to wear gogo boots and I said 'I'll be getting some flat sneakers'. Otherwise I know I'll fall over," Ms Lindsay said.
The performer said she loved being the centre of attention.
"I just love music and dancing. It's always a nice relief when you've been at work all day," Ms Lindsay said.
"I told my teacher I dance a lot better when I've had a bottle of champagne."
Despite her cavalier attitude, Ms Lindsay has strong motivation to take part in the event.
"I was inspired by a friend who battled with bowel cancer last year through lots of operations and treatment and actually came out the other side. She held a fundraiser and I thought 'if she could do that I could do this'," she said.
There are two main ways she's hoping to raise money for Cancer Council.
Ms Lindsay is holding a community garage sale, where she'll sell any donated "junk" people no longer want. She's also planning a fun event for the Dubbo Regional Livestock Markets which she's hoping will go viral.
The fundraiser involves some hot pink tutus.
"I want to go 'look what one group of blokes at Dubbo Saleyards can raise in one day'. Even though their dealing with the drought they're still able to raise $1000 to $1500," Ms Lindsay said.
Tickets for the Dance for Cancer are sold out.
