This year Harness Racing New South Wales announced a $20,000 'Cups Bonus' for the Carnival of Cups double-header at Penrith and Bankstown.
It would belong to the owner/trainer of the horse which had the best overall results across the Renshaw Cup and Treuer Memorial.
Turnbull gave herself an ideal shot at claiming that bonus when steering Ellmers Image to a tough win in the first leg, the Group 2 Renshaw Cup, at Penrith on April 18.
On Friday night the five-year-old Falcon Seelster x Ellmer Joy gelding backed up that effort to win the Treuer Memorial (2,540 metres) at Bankstown.
Turnbull guided her $1.35 favourite into the led early on after going from barrier three and there he stayed, winning the Group 2 feature by 6.4m over Ignatius in a 1:58.5 mile rate.
Steve Turnbull's Conviction placed seventh while Peter Trevor-Jones' Beetson faded to finish last, the pair having locked wheels.
The $20,000 HRNSW bonus was split, with $12,000 going to Ellmers Image's owners and $8,000 to Turnbull as the winning trainer.
