Mr Spender said flights from Dubbo to various locations across Australia cost an arm and a leg and by allowing foreign airlines to operate on domestic routes, it would save regional Australians money.
"If I am elected, I will continue to speak up for regional Australians who just want access to affordable airfares," Senator Spender said.
Senator Spender said he believes regional airlines price gouge becuase they have no major competition.
"Limiting the market to protect two Aussie airlines clearly isn't the answer, as regional Australians are the ones predominately paying through the nose for it," he said.
But Fly Corporate RPT Network Manager Jeff Boyd said if foreign airlines were able to operate domestic sectors in Australia, it would be on the major truck routes.
"I can't see an Airbus A330 sweeping into Dubbo to pick up a dozen passengers to take them to Brisbane or Melbourne," he said.
"However airlines like ourselves operate in most cases multiple services most days of the week, giving Regional Australians frequency to travel when they need to.

"We operate many flights with less than optimal loads, which are hopefully made up for on the days of the week when more people travel. We never price gouge."
Mr Boyd said allowing a foreign airline to operate at regional airports would risk making it not viable for Australian regional carriers to exist.
"We do our very best to offer services at a reasonable price on all of our routes. We also employ Australians in Australia. From the office staff and Aircraft Engineers through to Flight Crew," he said.
"As for finding the right airfares we always recommend the best way to secure a fare for the best price is to book as far in advance as possible.
"Also if you can be a bit flexible have a look at various days of the week to find the fare that best suits you."
