Dubbo Regional Staff and contractors have laid 1500 square metres of turf to improve the appearance of the area.
Regular market days are held at Macquarie Lions Park, as well as events like the recent Beers to the Bush Festival.

Council's manager recreation and open space Ian McAlister said the space was heavily used by community groups and events across the year which had contributed to wear and tear on the grass surface. He said that wear and tear had been exacerbated by ongoing irrigation wiring problems, which would be addressed in the near future.
"This prominent park sees a high amount of foot traffic throughout the year via events and the market activities which is fantastic but in order to maintain an aesthetically pleasing open space we need to program some rejuvenation works," said Mr McAlister.
The work started on Friday and is expected to be completed in four weeks. Macquarie Lions Park is scheduled to reopen on Friday, April 19.
Because of the work, the regular Farmers' Markets on April 6 will be moved to Ollie Robbins Oval on Bligh Street, where the Dubbo Show Riverside Markets are held.
The project will be funded from council's restricted assets budget which is generated by the money paid to council by the events that use the facility.
"Macquarie Lions Park is a much-loved open space in our community and these improvements will only add to its presentation and aesthetics for years to come," Mr McAlister said.
The Dubbo Farmers' markets are held on the first and third Saturday of every month between 8am and 12pm.
