MP Troy Grant announced late last year he would retire from politics at this election, with Dugald Saunders picked to represent the Nationals in the seat.
Also running are The Greens candidate Rod Pryor, Independent Mathew Dickerson, Shooters, Fishers and Farmers candidate Lara Quealy, Country Labor candidate Stephen Lawrence, Flux candidate Joanne Cotterill and Australia Conservatives (NSW) candidate April Slater.
Over the past months the parties have each highlighted a number of promises ahead of the election - with monetary gain for different issues in the electorate depending on who holds government.
The Daily Liberal asked each candidate what their promises for the region were and pulled together a list of those promises - both at a local and state level.
You can click on the map above for more details on the promises, or scroll through the list below.
The Greens Rod Pryor:
I have always been in support of a Drug Court for Dubbo in combination with a residential rehab facility.
Further I would encourage a consideration of implementing a justice reinvestment project the same as Bourke. The Greens have always encouraged education over incarceration
Independent: Mathew Dickerson
I have made one election promise. To be an effective and strong Independent Voice for this electorate.
As part of that promise, I will always be listening to this electorate and communicating with the community so I am always advocating for the best outcome for this electorate.
I am not involved with any party so I am not internally focussed on leaders and positions and internal politics.
I have not taken any donations during my campaign so I do not owe any external organisations any favours. If elected, I promise to dedicate myself to the people of this electorate.
Shooters, Fishers and Farmers: Lara Quealy
The only promise I make is that I will hold this Government to account on any of their promises.
I am passionate about my community and will fight as hard as I can to ensure the electorate of Dubbo gets its fair share of funding and services.
Our party has made several promises and has given a number of undertakings, and we will fight for the bush.
