An air quality alert has been issued for the Central Tablelands, which includes the Dubbo region, due to the dust associated with a cold front currently making its way across the region.

The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) has listed the air quality for the region as “very poor”.
Two separate readings for particles in the air of less than 10 micrometers in diameter were taking across the Central Tablelands on Wednesday, measuring 174 and 164.

At that level, the OEH advises that people with heart or lung disease, older adults, and children should avoid exercising outdoors.
"Everyone else should reduce prolonged or heavy exertion," the alert stated.
"If you have symptoms rest and use your reliever medicine. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice."
