The council reports that it is "taking the lead in tackling the water crisis" in the Murray-Darling Basin.
Local land councils will host the action day at Dubbo, Bourke, Dareton, Menindee, Walgett and Wilcannia.
Community gatherings will seek to "raise awareness and bring about change for residents forced to endure poor access to clean drinking and bathing water", the NSWALC says.

“We want everyone to come together and converge on those gathering sites to show their support," NSWALC chairman Cr Roy Ah-See said.
"By working together, we can drive change that will reverse the appalling state of our rivers.”
Dubbo's When The River Runs Dry will be held in Victoria Park from 9am to noon.
