Between October and December 2018, 170 small-scale systems were installed, beating Port Macquarie which previously held the title.
During the quarter there were 16,450 small-scale systems installed across the state. It was an increase from the 15,883 in the previous quarter.
Homes and businesses across NSW installed a mix of air source heat pumps, solar PV (panels) and solar water heaters. These technologies generate renewable electricity which displaces electricity generated from non-renewable sources.

So far for 2019 there have been 9263 heat pumps, solar panels and solar water heaters installed. For all of 2018 there were 272,849.
The highest number of installations was in 2011 when there were 465,840 installations, which included 360,745 solar panels.
