The first race of the Senior carnival is anticipated to begin at 4pm and will continue under lights into the evening.
There are 110 senior riders entered making it one of the largest cycling carnivals on this years calendar.
Riders are travelling from Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and all locations in between to take on the local Dubbo riders who are included as some of the best Australia has to offer.
Visiting riders who have raced on the world stage include 2015 World Championships rider Scott Law and Canadian National Kieran Champion Lizzanne Fox.
Local riders will include Darrell Wheeler, Kurt Eather, Danny Barber, Dylan Eather, Simone Grounds, Haylee Fuller and Jason Farr, all current Australian champions.
The Senior Carnival will follow the NSW Junior Cycling Championships (U9-U13) which will see 65 riders compete over Saturday and again Sunday morning.
The Victoria park facility has hosted the NSW Junior Cycling Championships for many years now.
World Tour rider Caleb Ewen won his first ever medal on this track.
Local Juniors including Imogen Fuller, Emily Hines, Cooper Farr and Jarryd Fuller will be looking to produce the same result.
The evenings senior carnival will include a live DJ, canteen and bar facilities.
Spectators are encouraged to attend for what is sure to be some spectacular entertainment.
The feature race of the evening is the Cliff Hazel Memorial Wheel race and has the largest prize purse for a Regional event.
The five-lap handicap event will see Dubbo’s Kurt Eather give up to 330m head start to some of his rivals.
Fresh on the back of his ranking as the No.2 ranked under-19 rider in the world, it is a head start some of his rivals are going to need.
Dubbo Cycle Club vice president Jason Farr said “the Dubbo community has come on board and the opportunity to race one more time on the Dubbo track, combined with some rich prize purses has attracted quality fields”.
“Along with World and National champions, we have former local champion riders in Robert Thompson, Tim Dawson and Graeme Peadon all returning to see if they can get as much pace out of the track as they once could.”
Spectators are encouraged to attend this final event at Dubbo’s Victoria Park track with about $4000 in prize money on offer.
