From applauding outstanding citizens to cooling off with a dip or a drink, there’s a range of activities for different ages and tastes.
Australia Day ceremony and festivities
Leafy Victoria Park will be the venue on Saturday morning for Australia Day celebrations run by Dubbo Regional Council.
A free breakfast barbecue will be operating from 7.30pm and the official ceremony will start at 8.15am.
It’s a chance to see the city’s Australia Day ambassador, Olympic gold medalist Debbie Watson and salute the local Australia Day award recipients.
After the official ceremony free barbecue sausages and bottled water will be handed out at Dubbo Aquatic Leisure Centre between 10.30am and about 1pm. Entry fees will apply.
Australia Day Eve
The Pastoral Hotel is the home of an Australia Day Eve party.
Dress up in your favourite Australia Day gear and come party with us from 7pm-11pm and entertainment with Shane Riley followed by DJ LP.

Australia Day at the Inn
The Macquarie Inn’s Australia Day party is hitting the beach.
“Dubbo's richest beach volleyball competition” will heat up the sand with more than $1000 in prize money. Kids inflatable zone with Pooka the clown, snow cones, face painter, pie-eating contest and live music all day and into the night.
The action starts at 10am.
Australia Day Yabby Festival and Family Fun Day
The Castlereagh Hotel is hosting a party with yabbie races, Pete and Shane Riley and more.
It will be open from 10am on Saturday.
Australia Day at the South Dubbo Tavern
It's all happening at South Dubbo Tavern this Australia Day kicking off from 10am.
Live music in the beer garden will be the entertainment of the day starting at 2pm, followed by the yabbie races with a whopping $200 cash prize to be won plus more starting at 5pm.

All-Australian weekend of movies
The Dubbo Westview Drive-In has a big weekend of Aussie films planned.
Friday night will feature family favourite Finding Nemo.
Saturday night will bring Mad Max to the big screen.
Get ready to quote “That’s going straight to the pool room” on Sunday night’s showing of The Castle.
Australia Day at The Mersh
Spend the day in the beer garden with a pavlova cocktail in one hand and an Aussie pizza in the other, all while watching your mates play a quick round of Jumbo Jenga.
Live music from 3pm and late into the night
Plenty of jumbo games, Aussie classic food menu.
Australia Day at the Old Bank
Giveaways throughout the day and Sydney band Flickertail live at 6pm.
Milestone Hotel
Live music from Jay Tyson from 9pm until 1am.
Collie Hotel Australia Day
The country pub will host yabbie races at 4pm and Aussie pies will be available for purchase.
Hair of the Dog Inn’s Australia Day 2019.
The hotel at Ballimore will host the John Miller Memorial Ride Poker Run and Show and Shine plus more.
Yabbie races, thong toss, backyard cricket, and live music.
