Athletics NSW officially sanctioned this year's event, so for the first time in the carnival's history, results could be used to gain representative honours.
Nosa Obaseki in the discus and shot put, Maya Piras in the 100-metre hurdles and Alex Eaves in the 100 and 200 in the multi-class all qualified for the National Championships from the carnival.
Dubbo Athletics Centre head coach Mark Penman said he was proud of every Dubbo athlete that competed, but some deserved special mention.
“Nosa Obaseki is an extremely talented young man who is up with best in the land,” he said.
“He has certainly got the talent to go a long way.”
“Tilly Medlin had a massive personal best in the under nine long jump with 3.62 metres,” Mr Penman said.
“She won by more than 30 centimetres. “That’s a big result and she is just getting better.”
“Maya Piras is an outstanding hurdler and she ran a PB at the carnival.
“She won the girls 17-18 100-metre hurdles in 14.61 which is fantastic and she is up with the best in the country with that time.

“Lachie Townsend ran a five-second PB to win the under 15 -16 800 metres which was impressive.
“He is one of the shining stars in Dubbo in a range of events, but he is getting very fast when you beat a PB in the 800 by five seconds you’re doing very well.”
Mr Penman said Para-athlete Alex Eaves also shone at the carnival.
“Alex sets high goals and is going along very well, qualifying with PBs for the National Championships is a great achievement,” he said.
“It was a great carnival and plenty of people will take the opportunity to come out again next year I am sure.
“We look forward to the carnival getting bigger and better.”
