The match was set to be the second of two exhibitions, with a game slated to follow Saturday night’s WBBL match, but both were washed out due to hail.
But on Sunday the skies cleared and Hughes saw off both of the Lanning XII’s openers, claiming Queensland’s Georgia Voll (3) before knocking over Kinross young-gun and Cricket Australian under 18 representative Phoebe Litchfield (22 from 18 balls).
Emily Hinze (1-14), Zoe Britcliffe (1-21), Jade Allen (1-21) and Darcie Brown (1-32) also contributed, but they could only limit the Lanning XII to 6-133.
A game-high knock from Perry XII skipper Maddie Darke (53) was not enough to get the side home, and they fell by 20 runs.
The exhibition game, between two hand-picked sides, aimed to showcase the best under-18 Twenty20 talent in the country.
NSW Breakers and Australian under 19 selectors were present, with Hughes now waiting to hear whether she has done enough to earn higher honours.
Her attention now turns to next week’s under 18 National Championships.
