Dubbo West Rotary Club said Victoria Park no 1 oval was filled with an estimated crowd of between four and five thousand people.
As participants arrived, they were greeted with music from the Dubbo District Concert Band. From 730pm, various vocal artists including Sarah Drake, Susie Rowley and David Gibb, entertained with carols.
Rotary member, Malcolm Cockrum, recalls his highlight, “I particularly enjoyed Jackson Gibbs’ performance of ‘The Holy City’… he is a young man with amazing talent.”
The arrival of the man in red, Santa Claus, had the mostly family orientated audience, bursting with joy.
The Dubbo Scout Group brightened the evening by handing out candles and glow sticks. Mr Cockrum said the event was made possible by Jamie Foster, and support of PCYC, Lions Club and Wellington Junior Rugby Club.
