Colts has been in ominous form this summer, sitting unbeaten at the top of the ladder despite not truly putting together a complete performance.
On Saturday they take second-placed Newtown at No. 2 Oval with top spot on the line.
The match headlines the cup’s eighth round.
Newtown has produced some scintillating performances this season and has recorded two double bonus point wins but the Tigers have fallen short against fellow top three sides Colts and CYMS.
Last time the two sides met it was a convincing victory for Colts, the ladder-leaders winning by six wickets in a clinical showing that day.
Tom Atlee was handy for Colts that day but will miss Saturday’s match due to Western Zone country colts commitments at Narrabri.
Third-placed CYMS has the chance to move up the ladder when it takes on the winless South Dubbo during the club day clash at Lady Cutler 2.
Making things even more difficult for Souths is the injury-enforced lay-off for captain and Western Zone gun Mitch Bower, while talented keeper-batsman Corey McDean will be captaining the Western colts.
CYMS are also affected, with the ever-improving Jake Settree part of the Western Zone squad while Brock Larance is as well, however he will play with the Cougars on Saturday before departing.
The final match of the round sees Rugby do battle with Macquarie.
The last time the two teams met it was a thriller and Rugby won by two runs in a match which went down to the very last ball.
All matches start at 1pm.
