The Fabregas x Little Meeka progeny jumped well from box two but had to fight Nangar Gift for the early lead.
He edged in front of the Dennis Barnes-trained white and black bitch coming into the first corner as Nangar Gift ($3.20) settled into third just alongside Cliff Keeping ($6.10) in second.
Cliff Keeping took advantage of the inside track to pull away from Nangar Gift coming out of the turn, with Raymond Smith’s Big Daddy Bee also creeping forward.
But they couldn’t reel Braddon’s $2.10 favourite in and he flashed across the line in a blistering 29.55 seconds, a solid 3.25 lengths ahead of Cliff Keeping in second.
The win brings Metallic Flash’s record to 11 wins from 25 career starts, and his fifth victory at the Dubbo track.
Two races later and the Braddons had another win – their third and final of the evening – as the Pamela Braddon-trained Sage A Blaze continued her perfect record with a fourth career win.
The Fabregas x Willow Blaze black bitch was well supported by the punters and jumped from box three the $1.10 favourite.
Sage A Blaze didn’t have the best start in the Ladbrokes Odds Boost Exotics Stakes (400m) but surged into the lead by the start of the back straight.
She extended that lead all the way to finish in 23.03, almost seven lengths ahead of Total Rambler (Leighton Winter, $14.80) and Much Ado (Merle Clarke, $57,50).
