An investigation is underway into the fatal crash.
Police say just after 6.30am on Sunday December 2 a Ford Mondeo lost control and crashed while travelling on the Castlereagh Highway at Gulargambone, about 25 kilometres north of Gilgandra. Five passengers, all male, were taken to Dubbo and Gilgandra hospitals. Four are believed to have minor injuries while one is in a critical condition.
Officers from Orana-Mid Western Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and appealing for anyone who witnessed it to come forward.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
