Mr Jordan apologised on Mr Inglis’ behalf for not attending the hearing. He said the South Sydney Rabbitohs star had recently undergone shoulder surgery and he had been in hospital, so could not attend.
Mr Jordan asked for Mr Inglis’ hearing to be moved to Sydney and for Mr Inglis to stand on January 14, 2019 which was granted.
Mr Inglis has not entered his official plea, but Mr Jordan said he would be pleading guilty.
Mr Inglis was charged by police for drink driving and speeding offences at 2.15pm on Monday, October 1.
Mr Jordan said Mr Inglis was extremely remorseful as he considered himself to be a role model.
“He hopes that by accepting full responsibility he will be able to continue as a role model knowing full well that he will have to do whatever to make that good,” he said.
The South Sydney star was allegedly driving along the Great Western Highway in a black Mercedes when he was clocked speeding by a stationary highway patrol officers outside of Lithgow.
Police then performed a roadside blood alcohol breath test on the driver, which allegedly returned a positive result.
Mr Inglis was then taken to Lithgow Police Station where he underwent a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.085.
Mr Inglis, was returning to Sydney from Dubbo where he had been playing in the Koori Knockout rugby league tournament.
