DUBBO Cycle Club’s Kurt Eather’s outstanding 2018 season continued over the weekend when the star under-19 rider took out the NSW State Omnium Championship at Sydney’s Dunc Gray Velodrome.

The omnium is comprised of four endurance events – scratch race, elimination race, tempo race and points race and Eather dominated his division, winning both the elimination race and points race and finishing second in the scratch race and tempo race to take the State title.
Luke Ensor, whom has regained some of the form that saw him take out numerous state championships in recent years, finished third overall after third placings in the points race and scratch race, a fifth placing in the elimination race and a sixth placing in the tempo race.
Dubbo Cycle Club also had a number of riders contest the NSW Elimination Championships, with Haylee Fuller and Danny Barber taking out the state titles in the women’s under-17 and men’s under-15 divisions respectively.
Dylan Eather finished second in the under-17 men’s race to Barber, while Timmy Hines finished with silver in the men’s masters 1-3 division, while Imogen Fuller finished with a bronze medal in the under-13 girls event following a determined ride.
The NSW Omnium and Elimination Championships also took in the famous Clarence Street Cup Carnival, which Dubbo Cycle Club had a healthy representation on the boards.
Georgia Farr finished fourth in the under-13 girls Clarence Street Cup Final ahead of Imogen Fuller (fifth), Emily Hines (sixth) and Makayla Fuller (seventh), while Lachie Farr was eighth in the under-13 boys Final, Haylee Fuller was 11th in the under-17 women’s final and Trent Hines was ninth in the under-15 Final.
Kurt Eather finished fourth in the Clarence Street Cup Open Men’s’ Final, with Tim Hines also qualifying for the final, while Dylan Eather was second, Danny Barber was fourth and Mitch Hines was seventh in the under-17 men’s final.
Kurt Eather will this week take on the Tour of Tasmania as a part of the Team Rauland development squad in Launceston.
The event is comprised of four stages – a prologue on Wednesday, November 14, followed by stage one (115.9km road race) on Thursday, stage two (71.5km road race) on Friday and stage three (70.5km road race) on Saturday.
Round five of the Dubbo City Toyota Track Racing Series with rider’s vying for the all-important points for the overall points standings to take out the Percy Dawson Memorial Trophy.
Racing was strong across all grades, with a handful of new faces in the tiny tots and super tots providing entertaining racing. The Dubbo City Toyota Track Racing Series continues next Tuesday.
